Hyderabad: Medical experts in Hyderabad claim that the coronavirus threat may continue for the next three weeks in Hyderabad. They have advised people to remain alert during the period, saying that the COVID-19 situation in Hyderabad is becoming grave day by day and negligence on part of public will only increase the number of COVID cases.

Medical experts have advised the residents of Hyderabad to stay at homes as precaution and come out only if there is dire necessity. Elderly people and children are also advised to remain at home because they are at high risk. People are advised to avoid crowded places and compulsorily use masks. They noted that social distancing and precautionary measures are the need of the hour.

Corona can be deadly without showing symptoms also

Dr Samiuzzaman and Dr Mujtaba in separate messages on social media have warned the residents of Hyderabad of the seriousness of the situation. Whether it is office or market use face mask and follow social distancing, they suggested. Dr Sami said it is not necessary that every patient should show symptoms. Corona can be deadly without showing symptoms also. He said people without having fever or cough are also found to be corona positive. Asymptomatic patients can easily infect others living around them by coughing and sneezing on them. Dr Sami said that all the government and private hospitals are loaded with patients. Many patients with lots of rupees in their pocket are not able to get beds in the hospital. Hence he advised people to keep themselves safe from the virus by taking precautionary measures.

Virus can enter into the body through eyes, nose and mouth if they are frequently touched with hands and can damage lungs. Dr Sami expressed fear that Hyderabad is likely to see a peak in covid-19 cases in next two months.

Hyderabad is likely to see a peak in Covid-19 cases in next two months

Dr Mujtaba also echoed Dr Sami’s thoughts and said even the beds of casualties department in government and private hospitals have been occupied by COVID patients. They are on oxygen with complaint of breathlessness. They will have difficulty in breathing if the oxygen is removed. The situation is so grave that the patients are waiting on wheelchairs and in the vehicles outside the hospitals to get admitted in the hospitals.

Dr Mujtaba advised people to go on self-imposed lockdown for the next 2-3 weeks and not allow any other person to come to their home. Housemaids, cooks must also not be allowed, he said. Coronavirus is taking the shape of community transmission and the virus is spreading like cold and flu. The main cause behind the spread, he said, is the carelessness of the people. He advised people to keep sanitizers with them besides using masks. Do not shake hands and do not touch the face with hands every now and then, he said. Wudu can keep the hands clean, claimed the doctor. He asked people to avoid parties, meetings and crowded places. People should also not stay in closed rooms for more than 10 to 20 minutes, he said.

Special milk train crosses 1 crore litre mark

Hyderabad: However, Indian Railways has been continuously taking proactive steps to ensure that the supply of essential commodities is not interrupted across the country. To ensure this, South Central Railway (SCR) had come up with an innovative concept of Doodh Duronto (a special train to transport milk) to balance the milk supply across the country.

Under this initiative, special trains carrying milk tanks were formed to transport milk from Renigunta to Hazrat Nizamuddin in Delhi. Earlier, milk was transported by attaching those tanks to the scheduled passenger carrying trains. Accordingly, the first “Doodh Duronto Special” (Special Milk Train) was dispatched from Renigunta to the country’s capital on March 26.

Generally, these special trains have been running with six milk tankers, each having a capacity of 40,000 liters (i.e., totaling to 2.40 lakh litres of milk in a train). However, considering the demand, the train has been running every alternate day from Renigunta and the number of milk tanks has also increased to eight tanks during some trips as well.

So far, around 42 trips of Doodh Duronto special trains have been operated and they have transported 1.04 crore litres milk. Incidentally, 262 ready made trains have been transported through these milk trains till date. Importantly, the “Doodh Duronto Special” is permitted to run with an average speed of 110 kilometers per hour without any enroute detention so that the train reaches its destination within 36 hours. Utmost care is being taken while loading along with necessary precautionary measures like sanitisation.

Physical distancing and staff hygiene have been maintained in every trip.  Gajanan Mallya, General Manger, SCR advised the Railway staff to continue adhering to all the necessary precautions while loading, unloading and transporting this important commodity.

Troop Bazaar Market to be closed till July 5

Hyderabad: The city’s famous sanitation market Troop Bazar which filled with vendors and shoppers, but unfortunately not anymore. The Sanitary Goods and Association announced on Thursday it will be closing all the shops from this upcoming Friday to July 5.

The association took this decision after the rapid growth in COVID-19 cases in GHMC limits.

The Association’s joint secretary told siasat.com that business was cut short this year because, COVID-19 affected the Bazaar.

“It was a hard call to close the market,” said a shop owner.

Due to the COVID-19, the Troop Bazaar market only has one entrance and one exit. This made trips to the market very inconvenient.

“It meant more of a wait for customers who came here in that they had to stand outside,” explained shopkeeper.

Heedlessness main reason behind rising corona cases in Hyderabad

$

Coronavirus concept

Hyderabad: Heedlessness of people with regard to taking preventive measures and violation of lockdown norms are said to be the main cause behind the rising cases of coronavirus in the country. Coronavirus cases have spiked in various cities of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. A nationwide survey has been done on the situation of Covid-19 cases during the past hundred days. The survey revealed that COVID cases surged due to lockdown violations.

According to survey, there were 331 positive cases from March 25th to 17th, where as the cases increased to 1211 from April 8th to April 30th and from 1st May to 10th May the tally rose to 2989.

It was observed in the survey the government succeeded in controlling the virus in the initial stages of the lockdown. However, as the lockdown was eased in various stages people began violating restrictions. They ignored social distancing and other restrictions. People were seen crowding the markets. Free moving of people without following the lockdown norms resulted in virus spreading like a wildfire.

Medical experts noted that cities where lockdown guidelines were not followed properly have witnessed surge in coronavirus cases and the situation is getting from bad to worse.

Telangana and Andhra Pradesh could also control coronavirus during the early days of the lockdown but as the restrictions were eased in phases, cases continued to rise in the state especially in Hyderabad. City was restored to normal life in the first week of June. Government and authorities did not pay much attention towards preventive measures and restrictions. Government alone can’t be blamed because the public too showed irresponsibility. Even now they are not ready to follow preventive measures despite rise in cases. Medical experts have warned that if people continue to move freely without using masks and without maintaining social distancing it will further worsen the situation.
