Hyderabad: Telangana chief minister A Revanth Reddy said that the path shown by Prophet Muhammad is not only for the Muslims, but also for those trying to live in peace across the world. He cautioned the people to be careful and stop the efforts of those trying to spew venom and spreading hatred between people belonging to different communities “to further own political agenda”.
Addressing a gathering during the release of the book ‘Prophet for the world’ written by Moulana Khalid Safiullah Rahmani, president of the All India Muslim Personal Law Board on Saturday, Revanth Reddy said that there is always a need for a strong opposition to be the voice of the people in the legislature. He added that in the Lok Sabha, Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi was one of the rare leaders who have always raised his voice to speak about the issues of the poor.
“I always used to feel proud of Asaduddin Owaisi even if he spoke against the Congress. But these days there are very few like him who would speak about the issues of the poor. Most of the MPs are coming from the business and corporate world who don’t care to represent the poor in the parliament,” Revanth observed.
Stating that before the elections political parties criticise each other and they have their own way of running their campaign, Revanth said that after the elections there is a need for parties to work together. Elaborating on that, Revanth said that he was happy to receive cooperation from AIMIM in his government’s efforts to rejuvenate the Esa and Musi Rivers which have been polluted indiscriminately.
He assured that the Telangana government will ensure that the poor people who could be relocated due to the rejuvenation efforts of the Musi River will be allotted 2bhk houses.
“The people of this state have given two terms for Chandrababu Naidu, YSR, KCR, and now they have elected the Congress government. Let us strive to uplift and develop the poor for the next ten years. Whether it is Bhagawad Gita, the holy Quran, or the Bible, all the religious books preached the same. Let us be together, take the country forward and keep peace in the world,” he said.
Terming the Prophet’s life the “best model for humanity,” Moulana Khalid Safiullah Rahmani said that the Prophet preached that humans are all the children of one god, and that all are born from the lineage of one man and woman.
“The Prophet Muhammed said that there is heaven under the feet of mother. He said that the wife is the touchstone for a man and if he didn’t treat his wife properly, he is not a good human. The Prophet preached that the blood of non-Muslims and their life was like that of Muslims, and that a Muslim who would murder or rape a non-Muslim deserves the same punishment which a Muslim would get for murdering or raping his own kind. The Prophet preached to respect the faith of other communities,” Rahmani said.
He also said that the Prophet gave equal importance to animals and plants in his preachings.
“The Prophet Muhammed said that animals needed to be treated well, and not to make the animal a stage. He preached against burning trees and had said that even on the day of apocalypse, if one is holding a plant or a tree, he should plant it in the soil,” Rahmani noted.
Hyderabad: Justice K Sujana of the Telangana High Court has ordered the state government and HYDRA commissioner A.V. Ranganath to refrain from arresting K. Srinivasulu, an assistant director in the survey and land records department of Medchal district, along with another employee, Phool Singh.
Both individuals are facing FIRs filed by the Cyberabad police following a complaint from HYDRA.
During the hearings, the judge noted that the charges against them fall under Section 316(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), which pertains to criminal breach of trust.
This section stipulates that individuals who commit such offenses while in possession of property or having control over it may face imprisonment for life or up to ten years, along with a potential fine.
This law applies to those entrusted with property in the course of their business or as public servants.
The judge noted that the complaint filed by HYDRA lacked sufficient evidence to establish a case under the specified section.
The other charges against the accused carry lesser penalties, which can be addressed under Section 41-A of the CrPC.
Consequently, the judge instructed the authorities to summon the accused and document their statements, directing them to appear before the authorities.
The accused are alleged to have permitted illegal constructions in the floodplain and buffer zones.
Hyderabad: The Telangana High Court, through Justice K Sujana, has quashed a criminal case booked against R Vasundhara Chary for driving a bike without a number plate.
The judge heard the petition filed by Chary and quashed the FIR registered against him by a sub-inspector of the Charminar police station.
The sub-inspector, while conducting a vehicle check at Gulzar Houz, stopped Chary’s bike and questioned him about the missing number plate. The SI then registered an FIR against Chary under IPC Section 420 (cheating) and Section 80(a) of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988.
Justice Sujana criticized the use of criminal charges for such an infraction and emphasized that the appropriate recourse would be a fine.
The judge stated that slapping a cheating case against the rider cannot be sustained and quashed the FIR.
Chary contested the First Information Report (FIR) against him, with his lawyer, Akash Kumar Baglekar, arguing that a cheating charge under IPC Section 420 could not be upheld unless there was evidence of actual cheating.
He further contended that Section 80(a) of the Motor Vehicles Act merely requires vehicles to display their registration numbers, and does not impose penalties for failing to do so. The judge agreed with Chary’s arguments and subsequently dismissed the FIR.

Though IMD Hyderabad’s forecast has hinted at a respite from heavy rains this week, Telangana is likely to receive more rainfall during the remainder of the current Southwest monsoon, which will end by the close of this month.
Hyderabad: Telangana chief minister A Revanth Reddy expressed on Saturday, September 14, that despite AIMIM leader Asaduddin Owaisi’s criticisms of the Congress party, he does not view Owaisi as an adversary.
He praised Owaisi, referring to him as the “voice of poor people.”
At the launch of the book Prophet for the World, Revanth Reddy addressed the pollution issues affecting the Rivers Esa and Musi, stating that efforts are underway to tackle these problems.
Additionally, he noted that the state government is compiling a list of individuals affected by the pollution for the purpose of allocating double-bedroom houses to them.
He mentioned that the support of AIMIM has been sought for these initiatives, and the party has responded positively.
Revanth Reddy stated that if different plans and ideas are pursued, it could negatively impact Hyderabad’s image.
He emphasized that the state government has taken AIMIM’s suggestions seriously.
‘Owaisi raises important issues affecting the poor’
He remarked that Owaisi raises important issues affecting the poor, particularly among minorities, adivasis, and Dalits in the Lok Sabha.
Reddy expressed appreciation for seeing a “fellow Hyderabadi” advocate for the underprivileged, noting that when Owaisi criticizes the Congress, it feels positive as he is voicing concerns for the community.
He remarked that criticism does not equate to enmity, highlighting the rarity of voices in Parliament that represent the poor, with Owaisi being a notable exception among the 17 MPs.
Revanth Reddy remarked that there are few representatives who ‘genuinely’ advocate for the people, noting that an increasing number of business and corporate figures are entering Parliament.
He pointed out that these individuals rarely address the concerns of the impoverished. Among the 17 MPs, he highlighted that only Asaduddin Owaisi has emerged as a true voice for the poor.

Hyderabad: In a dramatic development, the Gachibowli police have arrested three individuals in connection with the death of 25-year-old M Yashwanth, which was initially reported as a suicide.
More than ten days after the incident, investigators concluded that Yashwanth’s death was, in fact, a murder.
The prime suspect in this case is G Srikanth, who happens to be the victim’s brother-in-law.
Authorities alleged that Srikanth orchestrated the murder as a means to cover up significant financial losses he incurred from betting.
To carry out this heinous act, he reportedly hired two accomplices, P Anand and A Venkatesh, offering them a substantial payment of 10 lakh for their involvement.
G Srikanth incurred a loss of 3 crore from betting on online cockfights and plotted to murder Yashwanth to ensure that the property owned by Yashwanth’s father would pass to Srikanth’s wife.
On September 2, Anand and Venkatesh allegedly strangled Yashwanth and then hanged his body to make it appear as if he had taken his own life.
However, Yashwanth’s family suspected foul play and reported their concerns to the Gachibowli police.
During the investigation, authorities discovered that Srikanth was behind Yashwanth’s death.

Hyderabad: The Bhagyanagar Ganesh Utsav Committee has threatened to launch an agitation if the Telangana government fails to make proper arrangements for the immersion of Ganesh idols in Hyderabad.
Dr. R. Shashidhar, Secretary of the Bhagyanagar Ganesh Utsav Committee, said that despite holding meetings, the government has not made adequate arrangements for the immersion.
“We will launch a massive agitation in the city if the arrangements are not completed by this afternoon. All Ganesh pandal organizers will stage a protest near the mandapam,” they warned.
A delegation from the committee visited Hussainsagar on Sunday to review the arrangements.
Hyderabad: In a jibe at state IT minister Sridhar Babu, Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) working president KT Rama Rao (KTR) on Sunday, September 15, mocked the latter should be nominated for the “Best Actor in a Supporting Role” award for disowning turncoat MLAs.
“Mr Over Smart Minister (Sridhar Babu), according to your logic, is your ‘Chittanaidu’ (Chief Minister Revanth Reddy) still in TDP or has he fully crossed over to Congress? Even if we assume that you are right, who is the fool who went to our BRS MLA’s homes and welcomed them into his party with the Congress scarves? Why such shameless politics?” he asked in an X post.
I nominate Minister Sridhar Babu for Best Actor in a supporting role
The Congress has distanced itself from the ongoing tension between Public Affairs Committee chairperson Arekapudi Gandhi and the BRS Huzurabad MLA Padi Kaushik Reddy. KTR mocked the Congress’s manoeuvre and questioned its integrity.
KTR pointed out the double standards of the Congress party. He wondered why the Congress was desperate to poach the BRS MLAs and then deny the same. “Why all this drama? Are you afraid of losing posts?” he asked. He also ridiculed the Congress’s inability to claim the defected MLAs as their own. “I pity the Congress leaders for not being able to embrace the defected leaders and call them as their own party members,” he said.
KTR charged the Congress with attempts to deceive the judiciary as the deadline for the disqualification of defected BRS MLAs was set for just four weeks. He cautioned that while the Congress might be attempting to deceive the Telangana High Court, they would not be able to betray the people of Telangana.
Hyderabad: Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) leader Dasoju Sravan on Sunday, September 15 alleged that chief minister A Revanth Reddy was distorting history and aligning his views with those of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
Sravan criticised Reddy for observing the Praja Palana Dinotsavam on September 17, which coincides with the Hyderabad Liberation Day, observed by the BJP.
“Various political forces interpret the day differently, but Revanth Reddy’s approach stands out for its inconsistency with the Indian National Congress’s traditionally balanced stance and its clear political opportunism,” he said.
Sravan wondered if senior Congress leaders like Rahul Gandhi, Mallikarjun Kharge were aware of CM Revanth’s decisions. “Are senior leaders at AICC and TPCC aware of Revanth Reddy conspicuously attempting to exploit the historical festival by rebranding it as Telangana Praja Palana Dinothsavam,” the letter stated.
Srava pointed out that Revanth in the past has personally invited prominent BJP leaders like Amit Shah, Kishan Reddy, and Bandi Sanjay, who do not see eye to eye with Rahul Gandhi nationally. “This significant move reflects a deceitful alignment with the BJP, reinforcing the suspicion that he might be preparing to merge with them in the future,” the letter stated.
Hyderabad: Members of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi Vidyarthi (BRSV), the student wing of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), were arrested on Sunday, September 15, for protesting the withdrawal of Government Order 33.
The BRSV led by Gellu Srinivas marched from the Telangana Bhavan to the ministers’ quarters but were immediately stopped by the police. A heated argument followed between the protestors and the police officials. As the protestors attempted to break through the police barricade, tensions escalated, resulting in pushing and jostling between the two sides.
Later they were detained by the police.

On September 14, BRS working president KT Rama Rao (KTR) criticised the Telangana government over Government Order 33, expressing concerns about its implications for MBBS and BDS admissions. He argued that the new guidelines for determining local status would significantly disadvantage local students while favouring applicants from neighbouring states.
KTR highlighted that under the previous regulations, students who completed their education from Class VI to XII in Telangana were considered locals for MBBS and BDS admissions. However, with the implementation of GO 33, this criterion has been revised to recognize only those students who have studied in the state from Class IX to XII as locals.
He criticized this shift, stating, “This new rule will primarily benefit students from other states, while our local Telangana students who pursue their education outside the state will be rendered non-locals.”
KTR emphasized that the change introduced by GO 33 is unjust and detrimental to the aspirations of countless local students and their families.
He further accused the Congress government of undermining the progress made in medical education during the BRS administration, which had increased the number of MBBS seats to 8,915.
Hyderabad: On Sunday, September 15, Bharat Rashtra Samithi Working President KT Rama Rao (KTR) criticized Telangana chief minister A Revanth Reddy’s plan to secure a Rs 10,000 crore loan. He accused the administration of neglecting public welfare while implementing disastrous policies.
KTR highlighted that common people suffer due to the indifference of the state government.
KTR took to X to criticize the state government, accusing it of leaving people homeless due to recent heavy rains and demolitions carried out in the name of encroachments.
“One is a natural disaster, while the other is a Revanth Reddy-mark disaster. What’s common? Ordinary people are left on the streets. While those in need are abandoned, this government is busy throwing other voiceless citizens onto the roads. Is this what you call the people’s governance? Shame!” he remarked.
KTR also raised concern over reports that the Congress government plans to obtain a Rs 10,000 crore loan by mortgaging 400 acres of land meant for IT and allied industries in Hyderabad.
He warned that such a move could jeopardize the future of Telangana’s youth, by restricting land availability for new industries and job creation, undermining long-term economic development and opportunities in the state.
“I demand the immediate withdrawal of this dangerous proposal,” KTR asserted. He urged the government to rethink its priorities and focus on development rather than mortgaging Telangana’s future for short-term financial gains.
Hyderabad: Gold rates in Hyderabad have reached near all-time highs due to optimism that the US Federal Reserve will trim interest rates in September.
The price of 10 grams of 24-carat gold increased by over one percent from Rs 73,150 on September 12.
Gold rates in Hyderabad cross 74K mark
Currently, gold rates in Hyderabad are Rs 68,650 for 10 grams of 22-carat gold and Rs 74,450 for 10 grams of 24-carat gold.
The all-time high gold rates in the city were Rs 68,900 and Rs 75,160 for 10 grams of 22-carat and 24-carat gold, respectively, recorded on May 20, 2024.
In the international market, gold rates have also approached an all-time highs.
The current gold prices in India have reached three-month highs.
Reasons for rise in rates
The recent increase in gold rates in Hyderabad and other parts of the world can be attributed to various factors. The primary reason is the expectation of an interest rate cut by the Federal Reserve, which has led to a decline in the dollar and US Treasury yields.
There is an expectation that the decline in interest rates will begin this month, as US inflation has slowed down.
As gold rates in Hyderabad and other Indian cities have surged, the demand for the yellow metal may decline in the domestic market.
Future trends in gold rates will largely depend on several factors, including the Federal Reserve’s decision and the geopolitical situation in the Middle East.
Hyderabad: In response to the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation’s (GHMC) ban on Ganesh immersion at Tank Bund, members of Ganesh Utsav Samithi took action on Sunday, September 15, by removing the flex banners and barricades set up earlier by the GHMC and Hyderabad police.
They underscored that immersions at Tank Bund have been a cherished tradition for years and urged the authorities to reconsider their decision and not disrupt the sentiments of devotees with new restrictions.
The members pointed out that despite similar restrictions in place in 2022 and 2023, immersions proceeded as planned.
Earlier in the day, the secretary of the Bhagyanagar Ganesh Utsav Committee Dr. R Shashidhar said that despite holding several meetings, the government has not made adequate arrangements for the immersion.
Issuing an ultimatum to the state government, the samithi demanded permission for the Ganesh immersion at Tank Bund.
They warned, “If the necessary arrangements are not completed by this afternoon, we will initiate a large-scale protest across the city. All Ganesh pandal organizers will gather for a demonstration near the mandapam.”

Earlier, the Hyderabad police and GHMC had placed flex banners with the message “No Idol Immersion on Tank Bund, as per Hon’ble High Court of Telangana State” at every hundred meters along Tank Bund and its connecting roads.
Additionally, officials had installed 10-foot-high fencing along Tank Bund to prevent the immersion of idols.
Hyderabad: A large number of policemen were deployed at the residence of Serilingampally MLA and Public Accounts Committee (PAC) Chairman Arekapudi Gandhi here on Sunday, September 15, to prevent any untoward incident in view of the likely arrival of Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) leaders.
About 200 policemen were deployed around the residence of Gandhi, whose appointment as PAC Chairman sparked political tension between Opposition BRS and the ruling Congress party.

Police remained alert to prevent any law and order problems in view of reports that BRS leaders were planning to hold a meeting at Gandhi’s residence.
Deployment of police personnel amid continuing tension between Congress and BRS was causing inconvenience to people living around Gandhi’s house in Vivekananda Nagar.
BRS leaders, including senior leader T Harish Rao were placed under house arrest on Friday to foil their plan to gather at Gandhi’s house in retaliation to the attack on BRS Huzurabad MLA P Kaushik Reddy’s house by Gandhi’s supporters on Thursday.
A bitter war of words between Kaushik Reddy and Gandhi turned ugly when the latter, along with his supporters, reached the BRS MLA’s house in Kondapur and dared him to come out.
Gandhi, who defected from BRS to Congress in July, resorted to the action after Kaushik Reddy declared that he would go to Gandhi’s house, hoist the BRS flag, and offer him a BRS scarf. Kaushik Reddy had thrown the challenge after Gandhi claimed that he was still with BRS.
The defected MLA made the claim to counter criticism by the BRS over his appointment as PAC Chairman by the Assembly Speaker.
During the protest outside Kaushik Reddy’s house, some supporters of Gandhi barged into the premises and damaged window panes and flower pots. Police had arrested Gandhi and his supporters. On a complaint by Kaushik Reddy, police booked an attempt-to-murder case against Gandhi and others. His son and Miyapur corporator Uppalapati Srikanth, corporator Venkatesh Goud, and others were also named as accused.
Kaushik Reddy alleged that Gandhi and his followers broke open the gates of his house and vandalised the property by throwing stones, tomatoes, eggs, and other items.
The BRS legislator claimed that the mob’s intention was to kill him. Earlier, a suo moto case was registered against Gandhi and 14 others, charging them with unlawful assembly, criminal conspiracy, and criminal trespass.
Following Thursday’s incident, Kaushik Reddy had declared that there would be retaliatory action.
He had announced plans to hold a meeting of BRS leaders and workers at Gandhi’s house on Friday. Police, however, foiled the plans by placing Kaushik Reddy and other BRS leaders under house arrest.
